The short version

We collect what we need to plan your college journey — nothing more. We never sell your information. We message you only with your permission. Students' data gets extra care because many of our users are minors. You can see, correct, or delete your data at any time.

What we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, role (student or parent), and grade level.
  • Family links: the name and email of the parent or student you connect your account to, so your accounts can work together.
  • Planning information you share: interests, ambitions, activities, and anything you tell your planning guides in chat or by voice. Voice interactions are transcribed to text to power the conversation.
  • Contact preferences: your mobile number and your separate choices about SMS and WhatsApp messages — only if you provide them.
  • Referral information: if you arrived through a friend's invite link, we record that connection so we can thank them.
  • Technical basics: log data needed to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

  • To build and maintain your personalized college-planning roadmap.
  • To send the messages you signed up for: verification codes, account emails, and — with your explicit opt-in — SMS or WhatsApp reminders about your milestones and deadlines.
  • To link student and parent accounts you've asked us to link.
  • To run the ambassador and referral program you chose to join.
  • To keep the service secure, debug problems, and improve how the product works.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party advertising. We do not send marketing texts.

Financial information

We do not collect or store your family's financial information: no income, assets, tax figures, Social Security numbers, FSA IDs, bank details or financial aid award amounts. The FAFSA and the CSS Profile are completed only on their official sites (studentaid.gov and cssprofile.collegeboard.org); FledgePath records only whether each form is required by a college on your list, when it is due, its status as you report it, and which preparation items you have ticked. The parent interview may record a coarse budget band you chose to share, which you can clear at any time in Settings. The compare-offers tool runs entirely in your browser: figures you type there are never sent to us.

Students and children

FledgePath is designed for high school students (typically ages 13–18) and their parents or guardians. Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at the address below and we will delete it. We encourage parents to create linked accounts and stay involved — the product is built for exactly that.

Text and WhatsApp messages

SMS and WhatsApp messages are strictly opt-in: you must check a separate consent box and provide your number. Message frequency is low (typically 1–4 per month), message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out at any time — reply STOP to any SMS, or adjust your preferences by contacting us. Opting out never affects your account.

AI processing

Your conversations with our planning guides are processed by AI services we operate with commercial providers (such as Anthropic for language processing and ElevenLabs for voice). What you share in these conversations is used to build your plan — it is not used by us to train public AI models, and our provider agreements restrict their use of your data to providing the service.

Who we share with

Only service providers who help us run FledgePath — cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), email delivery, AI processing, and (once live) messaging providers such as Twilio — each bound to use your data only to provide the service. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Discord, we receive your name and email from that provider; we never post to your social accounts. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

We use only functional cookies: keeping you signed in, security protections, and a 30-day cookie that remembers a friend's invite so they get credit when you join. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Security & retention

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted, and passwords (if you choose one) are stored only as strong one-way hashes. Verification codes expire in minutes and are stored only as hashes. We keep your information while your account is active; deleting your account removes your personal data from our active systems.

Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal information at any time — contact us, use your account settings, or delete your account yourself at fledgepath.ai/delete-account (works signed in or out; a code sent to the account's email confirms the request). California residents and residents of other states with privacy laws have these rights by statute; we honor them for everyone regardless of state.

YouTube

FledgePath uses YouTube API Services to publish our own study videos to our own YouTube channel (AdmitCrewAI) and to organize them into playlists, and we embed those videos on our study pages using YouTube's standard player. By watching an embedded video you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not ask you to sign in with Google or YouTube, and we do not access, collect, or store any data from your YouTube account. The only YouTube data we hold is the identifiers of our own videos and playlists. Google may set cookies or collect viewing data through the embedded player; see the Google Privacy Policy for how that data is handled and how to control it. If you ever connect a Google account to a Google-based feature we add in the future, you can revoke FledgePath's access at any time from your Google security settings, and we would delete any data obtained through that access within 30 days of revocation or on request to privacy@fledgepath.ai.

Changes & contact

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email. Questions or requests: privacy@fledgepath.ai.
